New Century Homecare Services, Inc. (New Century) was established by Century Health Systems, Inc. (the not-for-profit parent organization of the Natick VNA) on January 1, 2004, to provide home-based services that are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs or other private insurances. New Century Homecare Services, Inc. was established to augment the certified home health care that the Natick Visiting Nurse Association (Natick VNA) has been offering the MetroWest area since 1899. New Century is able to offer supportive care, e.g. homemakers, companions, respite care, etc., more efficiently and cost-effectively than housing these same services in the certified VNA.

At the time of New Century’s founding, the Natick VNA closed its home care aide department, and New Century hired all employees of that VNA department. Now, the same home care aides who visited the Natick VNA’s patients continue to do so, through a contract between the VNA and New Century Homecare Services. And, New Century has hired additional staff, e.g. companions, homemakers, respite care workers, and other support service staff, and offers all of these services to both VNA and non-VNA clients.
